Hylant Historical Overview

1935 Company founded in Toledo, Ohio, by
Edward P. Hylant as Edward P. Hylant, Inc.
1943 Edward Hylant passes away. Firm is managed by
John MacLean and renamed Hylant-MacLean, Inc.
1970 Patrick Hylant (grandson of Edward) joins the
firm and forms employee benefits department.
1982  
Dana Corporation purchases Hylant-MacLean, Inc.
1985  
Patrick Hylant leads the repurchase of company.
1987 Hylant-MacLean of Michigan, Inc. is formed under
the direction of Steve Hylant.
1989  
Michael Hylant opens the Cleveland office.
1993  
Columbus, Ohio, office opens.
1997  
Cincinnati, Ohio, office opens.
2000 Ann Arbor, Michigan, office opens.
Company changes name to Hylant.
