Patrick McDaniel
President, Detroit Office
There are enough risks and uncertainties in today's business environment. My job is to ensure my clients are protected — both financially and professionally — whenever possible.
Every client is different. And every client has different expectations. They rely on me to know their individual situations, coverage needs and expectations. I work closely with my clients to review their current policies and identify missing gaps in coverage. Then I negotiate with the insurers on their behalf to ensure their policies protect their interests and provide the piece of mind they need to focus on their business.
Ensuring a company has the strongest policy possible in place is especially critical in the directors' and officers' liability arena. It can mean the difference between a company surviving a lawsuit and discontinuing operation.
One client, a publicly traded software firm, found itself embroiled in a controversy surrounding issues with stock options timing litigation, shortly after announcing the litigation the company announced it was being acquired. The new leadership needed the best possible coverage and relied on us to ensure they had it.
I thrive on the variety my job provides. Every day is different, however, the fundamentals of what I do is constant — know my clients, know their business and provide them with coverage that gives them the confidence to focus on making their company a success.
