Downtown;
Toledo Symphony Premiers Musical Tribute to Historic
Building
TOLEDO, Ohio
- August 19, 2004 - Hylant Group, a fourth
generation insurance agency headquartered in Toledo,
Ohio, recently completed the move to its new headquarters
at 811 Madison Avenue and is celebrating the renaissance
of this downtown Toledo landmark.
The move, which came once
Hylant outgrew its former headquarters downtown,
has brought the former Libbey-Owens-Ford headquarters
back to full capacity.
"I'm very excited Hylant Group
chose to stay in downtown Toledo," said Mayor
Jack Ford. "It is important to the growth of this
city that leading businesses such as Hylant and
Pilkington stay downtown. I want to personally
thank the two companies for their efforts to keep
Toledo a growing city."
Hylant dedicated the historic
building on Thursday, August 19, at a ceremony
at its headquarters, with Bill Buckley, President
and Chief Operating Officer, as the master of
ceremonies and remarks from Mayor Ford, and Patrick
Hylant, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
Hylant Group, and Richard Hylant, President of
Hylant Group Toledo. As part of the ceremony,
the building was officially renamed "The Hylant
Building."
In addition to the ribbon-cutting,
a brass quintet from the Toledo Symphony performed
"Fan Fare 811 Madison," a piece composed by William
D. McDevitt, that premiered at the ceremony.
"Being downtown is important
to us," said Patrick Hylant, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer of Hylant Group. "We've been
located in downtown Toledo for more than 60 years
and wanted to stay here. We're proud to ensure
the continuation of the 811 Madison Avenue building,
which has played such a prominent role in Toledo
since 1960."
Hylant Group has more than
200 employees currently occupying the building,
and occupies floors 7 through 13 in the building.
