Workers’ Compensation: Identifying Potential Fraud

Aug 30, 2018

You have probably heard stories like these. An employee injures his or her arm at work and claims that the pain is so great he cannot use it, but then is seen driving and skydiving without difficulty. Another employee claims to have fallen and injured herself in the parking lot at work, but later posts on social media that the accident took place elsewhere.

Fraud is often uncovered by insurance adjusters. However, employers may see early warning signs—red flags—that they should discuss with their Hylant claims advocate.

Of course, the best way to reduce the likelihood of any workers’ compensation claim is to create a safe workplace. Hylant’s risk control experts are ready to assist.
