Amy Chupka Promoted to Hylant Employee Benefits Carrier Relations Manager

January 6, 2021

Toledo, OH January 4, 2021 – Hylant is excited to announce Amy Chupka has been promoted to employee benefits carrier relations manager.

As the EB carrier relations manager, Chupka will focus on strengthening Hylant’s current insurance carrier and vendor relationships while developing and growing new partnerships. Chupka will be a crucial player in Hylant’s Employee Benefits business strategy as she identifies unique growth opportunities and ensures the company maintains the trusting relationships carriers and vendors have come to expect from Hylant. Chupka will work alongside both Lisa Hawker, Hylant’s president of employee benefits and Terry Morman, Hylant’s property and casualty carrier relations leader.

“The relationships with our carriers are the lifeblood of our ability to provide superior service to Hylant clients,” said Chupka, a Hylant employee since 2012. “I’m eager to continue to build those relationships and ensure we can always solve problems and deliver impeccable client service.”

Chupka’s promotion comes after a tough year for insurance providers and carriers. The COVID-19 pandemic required many organizations to make tough decisions on employment and the benefits they offer, which in turn impacted insurance carriers. This, coupled with a hardening market, forced carriers to resolve unique claims and, in some cases, raise premiums. Chupka rose to face the challenges they faced with aplomb.

“Amy’s work with our carrier partners during the COVID-19 pandemic illustrated the need for this dedicated position,” said Hawker. “Her demonstrated commitment, insight, passion and leadership made her the obvious choice.”

Chupka’s role will also see her responsible for evaluating and escalating carrier and vendor issues to senior management and developing exclusive product solutions where plausible.
